Famous for trekking, the Natural Reserve of Valle delle Ferriere, better known as Valle delle Ferriere, is a protected natural area that was established in 1972 and is 455 hectares wide that extend within a wide valley, which goes from Amalfi to Scala (SA).
The particularity of the Valley is the climatic conditions inside it. The water and the composition of the rock are the cause of the presence of the so-called "climate bubble": inside the Valley, time has stopped, nature has regained its spaces and rare animals and pre-glacial plants.
Inside the Valley you come across abandoned paper mills, ancient plants such as Woodwardia Radicans or rare animals such as the salamander with glasses.
The Valley is also famous for the presence of numerous waterfalls, one of which is 30m high, all characterized by the strange descent of the water, which is "in threads".
Water is the most important element of the place since it is the cause of the formation of the rocks, of the vegetation and of the "climatic bubble".
The pictogram system was designed on a square grid; thicknesses and curves have been taken from the typography. The main pictograms represent the elements of the Valley: aqueduct, paper mill, path, drinking water, waterfall, etc.
The system has allowed the design of a composition, even variable, to be used in the coordinated image.
This provides a vast system of signals, which occur from the beginning of the four trekking routes to the end of the Oriented Reserve, the last step of the route.
The signs of the paths that precede the Valley are square, modular and modular ceramic tiles, painted by hand, in line with the style of the Amalfi Coast. Inside the Valley, before the Oriented Reserve, there are only two signs, positioned on wooden or marble bases: one at the entrance and one 30 minutes away from the Oriented Reserve, at the meeting point between the Valley and the Path Justin Fortunato. Inside the Oriented Reserve there are localization signs embedded in wooden stakes, for ecological reasons.
